TITLE: Production Coordinator/AEEF [Educational Outreach] - New Image
for Computing (Boston)
TYPE OF POSITION: AEEF, Full Time, Project Contract (52 weeks)
UNION HIRING SALARY RANGE: $41,252 - $54,077
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:  The Educational Outreach department is
responsible for national and local educational outreach aimed at
educators, parents, children, and community volunteers in schools,
libraries, museums, and other community-based organizations. The
department creates print and online resources, including teachers’
guides, supplemental curricula, family activity booklets, and workshop
and online training content. In addition, the department develops
community campaigns, national content, and outreach events.
Educational Outreach staff develops and delivers trainings for
educators and parents on a variety of topics including hands-on
science, literacy, health, and English language learning strategies.
POSITION OVERVIEW:  The Outreach Production Coordinator will report to
the Outreach Project Director for the New Image for Computing (NIC)
project, an initiative to reshape the image of computer science and
computing among college-bound teens. The Outreach Production
Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of
national outreach activities that increase the reach of NIC, with an
initial focus on an on-the-ground pilot project in a local community.
The Outreach Production Coordinator will assist the Project Director
to increase awareness and use of WGBH resources within the formal and
informal education communities, and with professional computing and
technology groups, among others. This position will maintain, and
track local, regional, and national partnerships, and will help
develop innovative resources and outreach activities to deliver
project messages to target audiences. Responsible for supporting
diversity and inclusion in the workplace and interacting in a way that
is free from discrimination, intolerance or harassment.

Work travel is required, along with attendance at evening or weekend events.


REQUIREMENTS OVERVIEW: Candidates for this position should be dynamic
self-starters, with outreach/community relations, project management,
and, preferably, experience in computing or technology education. This
position requires strong public speaking, communication, writing, and
event planning skills; the ability to juggle multiple tasks; attention
to detail and the ability to meet deadlines; and familiarity with
FileMaker and PowerPoint. A bachelors degree and minimum of two years
related work experience is required. An interest in computer science
and computing technology, and a background in education are preferred.
