[ubuntu-us-ma] Who's experienced with offering Ubuntu conversions?

Just some quick notes on how I approach an Ubuntu conversion:
I do computer repair work. If a person has gotten a particularly severe
spyware or virus infection, or if Windows needs to be reinstalled, or if the
computer is old, I ask the user what they do on the computer.
In particular, if they only use it to
-Browse the web
-Check email
-Download pictures from a camera
-Listen to music (make sure they don't use the iTunes Music Store)
-Word Processing
Then I make the pitch. I do this as computer repair work, and charge by the
hour. Pricing would probably be a bit different if you're trying to offer
this service on its own.
Watch out for the following pitfalls when sizing up a conversion:
-Incompatible hardware (it's getting rarer, but be careful with ATI graphics
cards, Lexmark printers, eyc)
-Quicken/Taxcut/etc
-Music subscriptions/DRM
-Games
-Specialized software/hardware
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

-Cam
