It's a very interesting proposal, the only snag is that a good business
will need VERY good advertising and marketing to start up.

considering how difficult it's been to advertise and create marketing
for this group. I'd say you are going to be faced with an uphill
struggle.

Although I don't mind a referral scheme, I could point people nearer to
you towards your business and likewise you point people in Southie/South
End towards me.
