can you 'splain to me howcome alluva sudden ick-ons on my [7.10]
desktop are suddenly telling me all unnecessarily what the type of the
file they're ick-onizing is?  and, of c., how to un-do same.

see sample pic if that's unclear.  it probably would be to me, but
then i'm not very visual as you know.
