Good morning,
I was very excited about the presentation Jerry Feldman recently gave. I have been stuck in MS shops for the last 10 years and havnt looked at Linux lately. Decided to go back to the other side. Unfortunately I have 3 issues that are deal breakers, and weeks of research have left me no better off than when I started. If I cant resolve these issues I may have to go back to the Dark side again :(
The issues are that I cant get any wifi networks to even show up, let alone connect. I also have my screen stuck at 800x600, when it should/could be at 1024x768. Third, my virtual box shows a thick black border around the window at full screen mode. Switching to full screen doesnt change the size of the window, it just "blacks out" everything else.
I have an Acer TravelMate 4650. I have tried installing ipw2200 (sp?) and just get errors in the process, even though there seems to be highly detailed info out there. I also found info on the screen resolution issue, but that doesnt cooperate either. I was hoping the VB issue would resolve when I fixed the other issue.
I live in Salem NH and have no time currently available on weekends. I have spent the better part of 3 weeks on this. Apparently I'm more of a newbie than I thought, even though I've been A+, MCSA and MCT since 1997
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or resources I havnt found through Google.
Thanx
Rick
