Well, it's past the holiday season, so I think it's time we starteed
gearing up to put on some events.
I think we need to have more conversation going throughout the group
so we can see what resources we have among our team members. To that
end, I'd like to propose two meetings.
First a weekly time that we can all make an effort to be online for in
the IRC Channel. Thursday seems to be a good night, but feel free to
make yours own suggestions. I think we can have a weekly chat session
to get everyone more familiar and help us to be excited about Ubuntu
and Open Source in general.
Second would be a monthly meeting with a more formal agenda to shape
ideas into plans and share results of our efforts to make our own area
a bit more Open to Ubuntu. I'd love to see this turn into reports of
the local area meetings that members have attended or (more likely)
organized.
I see lots of potentitial in the team already, and I know you wouldn't
have joined if you weren't interested in being involved in spreading
the word about Ubuntu and alternatives to the mainstream state of
computing.
So what do you think? Will I see you on freenode.net tonight on our
#ubuntu-us-la channel?
