Add/remove issue

This would better geared towards a feature request for synaptic, you can
file it as a bug:

As far as showing new applications since last update, typically you only
"recieve" new application in your add/remove if you've recently added a
new software repository.  Most users only do this once over the use
period of their machine, or not at all.  You might want to include your
use case in your bug/feature request.
