+1 for Boxee. The Boxee box was released recently.
XBMC is nice because there is a Windows and a Linux version of it, so
it's cross platform already, meaning you can move from Windows to Linux
or vice versa. and the interface remains basically the same.
There's a lot of hope for this:

Having said what I said about MythTV, I might reconsider it if this
comes out, The HD Home Run uses Ethernet, which makes it a breeze to set
this up inside of it. No weird driver needed.
