Just after the Jaunty install.

It previously had HP's customized version of Hardy running, and the
speakers worked fine.

It's a known, documented bug on the hp netbooks, keeps them from being
considered "Tier 1" supported hardware for the netbook remix.

The suggestion is to add some PPAs and rebuild...the drivers? alsa itself?

Ah, what the heck, I've got nothing to lose. I'll give it a shot and
follow the instructions; Tier 1-like support, here I come...

Sweet!

That was unfortunately complex to do, though the instructions were
simpler than a lot of "get that stubborn piece of hardware working"
hacks I've seen before.

I've now got a fully functional hp mini running Jaunty Netbook Remix!

Considering it's kind of a high profile bug, maybe someone's working
on fixing it in Jaunty proper.

Hope you all had/have as pleasant experiences with Jaunty as I.

Simón

P.S. The Netbook Remix interface is even starting to grow on me a
little...I might try it out on the tablet...
