Ubuntu 8.10, the Intrepid Ibex, came out on Thursday; those of us
who're into that sort of thing have already got it bounding in between
the peaks of our computers.

It is a thing of beauty.

One of my favorite things about Ubuntu is how it just gets better and
better. This is my third year using Ubuntu; it's been quite a ride,
and I look forward to riding it for a long time to come.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to celebrate this milestone with us
yesterday at the release party!

P.S. OpenOffice.org 3.0 came out not too long before the Ibex.
Unfortunately, it did not come up in time to be included in the
official repositories. However, my wife and I found a great "HowTo" on
getting it. It's easy to do even for beginners, integrates it
perfectly (as far as we can tell), and sets it up so it'll
automatically update along with the rest of your system.
