Hi all.
I did some phone work today and found out the following info:
The University of Iowa has a room available in the IMU on Sunday the
28th, available pretty much all day. The room holds 24 people, and it
has a projector as well as Ethernet connections. However, I'm not
sure if we are looking at just one Ethernet port, or several, so we
will need to check into that, and look at bringing routers or whatever
we need to do to make that work.
We are not allowed to bring in any outside food or drink. Anything we
want, we have to buy from the cafeteria (which is in the same
building) or pay to have it catered.
The room is #341 (on the 3rd floor obviously) in the IMU. It is setup
with tables which measure 6' by 18", and there are two chairs per
table. We should have outlets for each table, but again, that will
need to be investigated to make sure.
The cost of the room is $150 total (no matter how long or little we
use it), unless the ACM hosts, in which case it is free. If we do pay
for the room, and we do pay for catering, the room rate is reduced by
the cost of catering times 0.5. In other words, for each dollar we
spend on catering, we pay 50 cents less on the room. Probably not
very important info, as I don't see us having a lot of money to spend
on such things, but just wanted to mention it.
Thoughts?
I have placed a tentative reservation on this room, which is valid for
7 business days.
Also, would anyone be interested in exchanging some PGP key sigs while
we're there?
Thanks.
Aaron Cannon
