University of Iowa ACM

Keep up the good work so far... I missed the meeting; I suddenly had a surge of extra stuff I needed to do, including an intervention with a Vista infection on a relative's computer...

I asked DMACC to see if it would be a potential meeting spot; they need to ask a couple people about it, but I should hear back from them sometime on the 11th or 12th (of March, 2010). Also, apparently the Valley Junction District (or whatever the proper name for it is) provides free/community Wi-Fi; I don't think it's all that fast, but it might be okay for a backup plan or something.

Even if we don't find someplace with Wi-Fi, it's not too difficult to use a 802.11 router/bridge along with a standard 802.3-based Internet access.

Yeah, that's kinda' what I figured. So anyway, hopefully I'll hear
back from one of the leaders of the local ACM chapter.
