There also may not be a Gutsy release for RealPlayer yet so you'd have to use feisty as the distribution instead of gutsy. Don't know if that would work or not though... I try to stay away from installing BIN files because they can do pretty much anything they please and sometimes it's hard to clean up afterward if they fail. The repo's and .deb's are good. As far as Automatix, I've had good results but there definitely is a risk using it. As far as I know, it basically adds its own repo's to sources.list and has its own GUI front end to install apps. Maybe the problem is that the Automatix repo's may sometimes conflict with the Ubuntu repo's. On another note, anyone having problems installing VMWare Player? It tells me my architecture may not be supported, but that's highly unlikely since it's x86. I had no trouble in Feisty. The problem with just downloading the package and installing it is that you will never be notified about upgrades.
