Fellow LoCo Members:

Activities:

I'd like to get some more activities together for the LoCo. I'm looking
for input, specifically for face to face events and events where a few
of us can bring Ubuntu CDs to promote Ubuntu and the LoCo. Ideas are
welcomed and needed.

One thing I'd like to do is to hold an event in September in celebration
of both the 20th Birthday of the Linux kernel and the 7th Birthday of
Ubuntu Linux. This event is intended to be a fun opportunity for people
with common interests (Ubuntu Linux) to get together, socialize, and get
to know each other. I have yet to locate a venue and have not finalized
a date. Suggestions on the venue are welcome, but I'm thinking
September 17th for the date, unless anyone is aware of significant
conflicts.

Website:

In the next few days, I'm going to be moving the Ubuntu Georgia and
Planet Ubuntu sites off of Nick Ali's hosting. In doing so, I've been
considering redoing the Ubuntu Georgia website to give it a facelift,
and add some new functionality. If anyone has suggestions or would like
to help with this process, I'd love your assistance -- please contact me
off-list. My current plan is a rebuild on Drupal 7 focusing on the
following:
- Member Profiles
- Events/MeetUps
- Where to get Help
- Cool Ubuntu Projects
- Local Ubuntu Resources

Additionally, the planet-georgia domain lapsed and has been purchased by
another. My plan is to host the planet as planet.ubuntu-georgia.org.

Thanks for your time all!

David
