Honestly I'm not sure I've ever really had to think about it, I just use
whatever is available on any given system.  This box defaults to
gnome-terminal, so that is what I use.  The few times I've had to make
a conscious decision I've installed xterm, but only really because it is
the first one I could think of.  In every case, however, byobu helps keep
things consistent.  I guess I'm just not a power terminal user!
