[ubuntu-florida] Introduction

Hello All,

My name is Richard and I am brand new to Linux. I have tried several
versions with the last being Mandriva. I have found all those versions
very hard for me to understand and use so I gave up. Then I found
Ubuntu and decided to try again. It is a lot more user friendly but I
still have a lot of trouble understanding what to do. I am tired of
paying thru the nose for an operating system as the big W. I installed
Ubuntu on two machines one with ATI video and one with NVidia. The ATI
machine is not stable and restarts on its own when I am trying to work
on it. The NVidia machine is nice and stable. Now I have to learn how
to install other programs and get them to work.
