Item #1:
The business expo is a table top, I will be bring the following:
1) Ubuntu CD's, leaflets, and T-Shirts
2) OnA1A.com T-Shirts, which I has made when I owned a skateshop
they are in the classic surf shop style with the art on the back
5 color silk screen of my 1958 Ford Rancherro with various characters
[in R. Crumb Style] driving along OnA1A in it's natural state.
3) Something to cover the table
4) Dual AMD64 Opteron 1U rack server running 64Bit Ubuntu and whatever
software that I have time to confiqure. So far I have a Drupal Site
up and running.
5) A Notebook Computer similar spec's to the Chris's.
6) A 4-port switch, cables, KVM for the server, USB wifi adapter
Item #2
There is no talk to be given, other then talking to the people that
visit the table. So just feel free to show up. As far as demonstrations
go they are going to be on the fly, just having Ubuntu up and running
will get the point across. If any one wants to be any application, bring
it on a USB key or CD(s) with all the required packages or tarballs. I
will not be able to read DVD's unless someone else brings a notebook
with a DVD drive.
Item #3
I paid the $175, it's an expense for my business and nobody has to pay
anything else. The event is open to the public, [and I say again] just
show up if you are in the area.
Item #4
Any ideas about "Selling Ubuntu to Everyone" are cool, keep in mind that
most people aren't going to know what Linux is, and most of them are
sales professionals. In other words they are windows users by default,
but they like the idea that "open source" means "free".
Item #5
Martin: Feel free to start that wiki page.
