</div></div>None of those functions touch IO for your storage, so I wouldn't think<br>
they're putting a finger on your storage. It's possible you need a<br>
kernel parameter, but you'll need to provide more information using<br>
the ubuntu-bug command for a bug report.<br>

</blockquote></div><br><div>Even going all the way back to <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; border-collapse: collapse; ">a 9.04 AMD64 Live CD (the oldest one I have laying around), I can't get to any kind of command prompt where I could issue such a command. Am I missing something? I can't boot off the hard drive, I can't boot off any of my CDs (Ubuntu or otherwise), and pressing the Shift key to get into Grub doesn't work.</span></div>
