[DC LoCo] The "if anything" option for the Washington DC USA LoCo Team.

Kevin,

I believe that we need to examine this issue via the other side of the
looking glass.

Here you, Jeff and a whole lot of very smart people in Washington DC, our
nations Capital, are willing to spend time in this Local Community
activity. I am wondering why you need the approval/rubrics of some central
London based martinet or bureau of plutocrats? Process is fine for all
that, but the esprit of hacking needs to challenge this meaningless
churning of "official renewal". This is, in the vernacular of the
Commonwealth - "Bloody Poppycock". As the founder of the DC LoCo, I just
want to make it clear that there continues to be too much cob-webbing and
red tape then the smart thing to do for the DC LoCo may be to become
something like the Vermont Area Group of Unix Enthusiasts
(http://www.uvm.org/vague/wiki/index.php/Main_Page note that this page is a
"bit" moribund, as it was last updated two years ago :^). To put this in
in simple terms, I believe that you are not a franchisee of the Ubuntu
Local Community, but rather you ***are*** the DC Ubuntu Local Community,
and need to be treated with organizational respect, not with blackmail
regarding status...

But hey, this is just my opinion, Your Mileage May Vary...
