I love the idea of involving the library, but I don't at all agree
with you, Mr. Cole, about preaching to the choir. After more than a
decade of "preaching", I'm still one of the only people in my school
system who supports document freedom or makes much use of it.

Things are only now beginning to change, largely because of big name
efforts like the Khan Academy (http://www.khanacademy.org) producing
huge collections of high quality creative commons documents (and
videos). That makes the argument for document freedom is much more
compelling to my peers. Now is the time to do a Document Freedom Day
event, but I think educational institutions are a better target than
libraries.
