[DC LoCo] 12.04 upgrade personal note

Marty,

Try this:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

You will have Gnome back, and and updated machine that you can use.
