[DC LoCo] annoyances to unuseable

A few annoyances with Ubuntu that don't
generate apport bug reports and I've not
figured out how to just report something
not crashing...

currently Precise is not giving any user output
besides uptime, load and then title line on w
and
who
Vary worrisome, like machine cracked...
And I went to precise because it was
easier than a reinstall when getting
weird stuff after update in unsafe environments
while travelllng in october (read started at
Manassass Amtrak/ VRE train station).....

Packages in the last day or so are conflicting
so much on krb related stuff, that to fix the
broken dependencies it basically replaces
the whole system,
and synaptic for some reasons says
dist upgrade fails
(plus the nasty panel icon (-) on lxde
reminding me that something is seriously broken)


on a MacBook and I think G4, an older Ubuntu version,
the only one that I could find that worked on PowerPC
installs and then an upgrade, like with grub or similar
and then the system won't boot
so I've installed at least twice on each machine
and then it kills itself, so grub or some postinstall script or
something doesn't seem to be EFI/ Mac aware

other than that it's fun... ;-/
