Please pass this to any Linux User Group or Open Source user group who is
able/willing to assist.... especially CALUG.

I would like to start some discussions about FOSE. <http://www.fose.com> We
have a booth 1507, a 10’ x 10’ booth with a draped table, 2 chairs,
carpeting, a waste basket, electrical service (1 quad box or power strip)
and 2 wireless internet connections. FOSE is scheduled for 23-25 March at
the DC Convention Center <http://www.fose.com>. tux.org has participated
for many years with the booth being donated by the show organizers. We are
fortunate to again to be able to participate.

The FOSE wiki is up for sign ups. This year, though, we are looking for
volunteers in three ways - to man the booth, configure demo applications and
to reach out to vendors for swag - magazines, CD/DVDs, etc...

I am looking to demonstrate Linux and other Open Source efforts that will
help with Technology Solutions for the Business of Government (in line with
FOSE's tagline). If we created a demo of a tux.org enterprise with a
variety of applications that would interest business & government, I believe
it would be extremely advantageous. Some sample demos could be

    Web (OpenID for the identity)

   Drupal Joomla

   Database

   MySQL Postgres

    CRM

   SugarCRM openCRX vtiger

   HRM

   OrangeHRM

    ERP

   OpenERP openBravo

   Healthcare<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open_source_healthcare_software>

PatientOS openEMR FreeMedFoms, FreeMed OpenTAPAS OpenMEDIS

    Security/Privacy

   GPG TrueCrypt OSSEC, Nessus, Snort

   Office/ADmin Products

   OpenOffice AbiWord Networking Nagios

    - Virtulaization

      XEN Virtual Box

The list is huge - that is the point. The items I listed are not the only
ones - simply representative. The goal is to demo things the attendees
would benefit in seeing. I suggest we use the wireless connections at FOSE
to reach back to the "tux.org enterprise."

I am looking for volunteers who can help set things up to be professional
and beneficial for attendees. his is an opportunity to learn something
new. We can setup an OpenLDAP with folks in the enterprise and integrate,
where possible, the various applications.
