Hi,
A reminder (or a first time announcement for some of you): The 30th
annual National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) will be held
in DC this summer (June 28 - July 1). Some of us attended as
volunteers at the Open Source Pavillion, run by Steve Hargadon, a few
years back and had the opportunity to see a prototype XO laptop, and
hear Nicholas Negroponte deliver the keynote. I'm planning to attend
at least part of it as a volunteer again this year.
Details at:
http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2009/
Volunteer sign-up at:
http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2009/volunteers/contact_input.php?mode=menu
But I don't know if that volunteer sign-up included the Open Source
Pavillion or not.
By the way, Steve Hargadon is also responsible for a computer
refurbishing / reselling effort Technology Rescue, as well as setting
up the Classroom 2.0 social network and mailing list and lots of other
tasty good educational technology stuff. If you don't already know
him (or know of him) have a poke around at:
