What are the exact dates and times of the TIE 2008 conference and its
location? I can't attend since I'm all the way over here in DC, and
have no $$$, but there is something else I might be able to do. I may
not be successful but I might be able to get the people at TWiT.tv to
cover TIE 2008. One of TWiT.tv's (This Week in Tech, created by Leo
Larporte of TechTV fame and John C. Divorak of PC Magazine) shows is
FLOSS Weekly, a program dedicated to Linux and Free Libre Open Source
Software, and Leo Laporte himself is a huge advocate of Ubuntu and Mac.
As I said I can suggest they cover TIE 2008 which is something they'd
definitely would be interested in hearing about. Maybe I should have
suggested this some time ago to give them time to arrange a booth to do
a show from the TIE 2008 conference floor, which is also something they
would have done since they've covered other shows in the past. Its just
a suggestion but anything to further the cause of Linux in the classroom
is better than doing nothing at all.

The best I might be able to do is get Leo to bring up the conference on
his nationally syndicated The Tech Guy radio broadcast he does every
week. As an Ubuntu fan I'm sure he'd be interested in bringing up the
topic of Linux in the classroom.

The dates are June 24-27. All the info on sessions and times can be found on the wiki page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TIEColorado08.

Any publicity you can arrange would be great. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Thanks.

--
Jim (Ubuntu geek extraordinaire)
----
Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments.
