[CoLoCo] UEFI Conundrum

Hello -I'm hoping someone can help an aged Ubuntu fan who is light years away from Linux literacy.  

I've tried to install Ubuntu 16.04.1 on two older Win 7 PCs, and get stopped with a message that says (in effect) the (Windows 7 system) boots using "bios compatibility mode" and if Ubuntu is installed in "UEFI mode", Windows might not boot.  A second paragraph says, in part: "If you wish to keep the option to boot an existing operating system, you should choose NOT to force UEFI installation here."  Then the message window offers only 2 options:  [Go Back] and [Continue in UEFI mode].  There appears to be no way to proceed with an alternative form of installation.
Does this mean I cannot dual-boot with 16.04?  Or is there a work-around?Thanks in advance for any assistance.Clayton Foster
