Okay, I got some ideas from my previous thread on a programming class at
the middle school level. I have students signed up and we are ready to move
forward. I have basic ideas on how to start.

What I need is some guidance on setting up our computers to run what's
needed as well as knowing what's needed. Also some feedback on a reasonable
structure would be nice. Things like what sequence should things be taught,
how much command line work vs using an IDE, etc.

It would be nice to talk with someone (face to face or phone) sometime. If
you'd be willing to guide a noob down this path that would be great. Give
me a call at work at your convenience and we can go from there. Fwiw, I'm
not a total noob but certainly venturing into new waters. I have been
using/tweaking Linux for years, played around with bash a fair bit,
compiled from source by following a how to (how hard is that), poked around
in Python, did some html websites before dreamweaver, which means I know
enough to start this class but not enough to not f it up.

Thanks.

I'm away from the desk a fair bit so if you miss me leave a message and
good time to call back. Thanks.
