It's a little more than that:

Apr 2, 2010 Songbird Blog [1]: "After careful consideration, we’ve come to
the painful conclusion that we should discontinue support for the Linux
version of Songbird"

I think there are a couple community members that make sure that it at least
runs on Linux, but in terms of new features, they aren't putting any
development into the Linux version.
