[CoLoCo] Unity decision: (Fwd) Default Desktop Experience for 11.04

I'm with you Aaron. This is the first time I am nervous about using
System76 machines almost exclusively. The handling of several things at
Ubuntu lately has smelled allot like what got me to finally stop using
Windows. I understand beta testing, and I also understand the need for "it
just works" Ubuntu has pushed a few things out that has not been ready for
primetime lately like Unity and Upstart. Both are really good ideas that
just needs to bake in a bleeding edge environment a little longer before
thrusting it out on the general public. That's the kind of crap Microsoft
does!!!

If I am going to go with something that bleeding edge and iffy, I would
rather have the Gnome 3 shell. All the other distros afaikt are going that
way. I also thought about KDE. I have also considered not upgrading.
Using standard end users as beta testers is just wrong. I need my Ubuntu
system for business not as a hobby.

That does not mean I would not like if I could have the option on login, so
days when I can afford to run in a newer less tested environment, like to
try it out. That would be great. But unfortunately that is not what Ubuntu
is doing.

Just my $0.02

Kevin
