[CoLoCo] A different mounting problem

I'll be it's 'vfat', from his original post. I don't think NTFS would even read if it were mounted as VFAT.
Does the device still work when attached to other Linux computers? Does a regular USB stick work when attached to this computer?
If you 'tail -f /var/log/messages' and then plug in the iAudio, what new lines appear?
Or for similar information, you could 'dmesg > /tmp/old-dmesg', plug in the drive, 'dmesg > /tmp/new-dmesg', then 'diff /tmp/old-dmesg /tmp/new-dmesg'.
