David, I just spent the whole day at a school re-design meeting at which I
hit on some of the very same topics Shuttleworth hits on in this
interview--namely web-based applications replacing the MS Office suite.
This could not be more timely for me. Thanks for posting this, as I had NOT
heard it. I just listened to it in its entirety and found it fascinating.
Ironically, at our meeting today, one teacher from the arts department had a
form on Excel that he wanted to share. There was talk of flash drives and
email attachments.... At the same time, a science teacher pulled up his
version of the form on Google Docs and showed how we could access it, edit
it, etc. Didn't take long before all involved agreed to just use Google
Docs.
The times they are a changin'.....
