Not directed at Soren specifically but seemed the right point to lead into
my questions. Since my desktop does not support hardware VT, the native VM
tool in Hardy (if that's the correct way to put it) will not work for me,
correct? Among the options (I've tried vmware and virtualbox ose) which
would be the most likely to "just work" for installing other distros in a VM
to check them out and maybe windows if I can find a use for it?

Second, will any of these allow the vm to see and use my graphics card? I'm
not looking to play games, just get some of the graphical features of the OS
to work.

I know virtualbox supports shared folders because I read the tutorial on
ubuntu-tutorials, do the other vm options allow this too?

Finally, since my laptop does have a VT enabled CPU (core 2 is VT right?) so
should I be able to use KVM on that without any problems?

Thanks. I'm having fun playing, but I really want to see a VM that really
works well - meaning nice speed, easily integrated into the host os with
shared folders, ability to use other hardware like DVD burner, graphics
card, sound, network, etc.

We just got done deciding we want to have a virtual appliance as part of our
TIE session in order to demonstrate some Linux only FOSS on our windows
laptops in the conference room.
