As far as I know, it's meant for mobile devices such as handheld computers and whatnot...  like internet tablets.

I wonder if it would work on this?


If it will make you feel better, the Ubuntu mobile was spearheaded by Intel and Nokia.  It was being designed specifically for the Atom processors (i.e. MID devices such as the HP).  So, yeah, it's safe to think it should work.  While the processor was being developed, they used Origami based UMPC machines.  So, this version of the OS was built from the get-go for small hand held devices.

As an alternative though, have you thought about Xubuntu?
