Or they listen to Microsoft marking and think the kool-aid is all there
is to drink.

Today, Microsoft announced that they admit there were some problems with
Vista. Basically, they did not do a good enough job getting the word
out of all of Vista's fine qualities (you know like requiring 3x the
machine to do the same job with half the reliability... because they
care).

They also announced that they were going to begin a new advertising
campaign to counter Apple's ads (you know the ones... Hi I'm a Mac...).
They are going to differentiate themselves based upon what makes Windows
superior to Mac... Yep, you guessed it, unlike Mac, Windows is not
proprietary, and can run on any type of Windows based machine, not just
those made by Apple, so you don't get that vendor lock-in. Don't you
wish you could be this clueless also.

Trust me, drink the kool-aid

I think the Linux community needs a commercial that competes with these
two idiots. Here is what I propose:

------------------------------
A well to do man is sitting in a wing back chair. He is wearing a suit,
with the Wall Street Journal on the table next to him. His tie is
loosened. You can tell that he is exhausted, and just watching TV. One
of those Apple commercials comes on, and he chuckles (after all don't we
all?) and changed the channel.

On the TV is the Microsoft ad that is calling Apple proprietary. The
man starts laughing so hard he is doubling over in pain.

Screen fades to black, a dozen or so Linux distro icons come up (Red
Hat, Fedora, Suse, Debian, Ubuntu, etc). In the center of all those
icons comes the tag line...

Linux... Real Choice
with no vendor lockin
------------------------------

No Words! Just laughter.
