I have an nVidia 7600 GS with 256MB in my system. It's PCI-E not AGP
but the same chip set. It works 100% without issues for me. I can
install the restricted driver in two clicks and have all the nice
effects. I'm not much of a gamer but I've played with most that are
available and they all run. Maybe not the way a serious gamer would
want but they don't jump or stutter. All very smooth. Given the
history of ATI and nVidia I'd say it's hands down a nVidia win if you
are wanting to use it with Ubuntu. ATI is open sourcing so eventually
it not be an issue but for now get the nVidia.
