I'm a recent convert to Ubuntu but I'm not entire all that new to
Linux. I don't know what Clue is so likely you're thinking of another
Michael. LOL If I could afford an Apple system like an iMac or Mac Pro
I'd have already switched from Windows a long time ago. I have dabbled
with Linux off and on for a long time but the last time I seriously used
it was back in the late 90's. For past few months I've been playing
around with Ubuntu 7.04 using Wubi, also blowing up Ubuntu 7.04 at the
same time, and discovered the Wubi 7.10 Alpha which I've found to my
profound delight is actually very stable. Anyone who knows me knows I'm
no fan of Microsoft in general, Windows, Bill Gates, and Steve Balmer.
In my honest opinion MS has set innovation in computer technology back
by 10 years. FOSS projects like Ubuntu are just now starting to get to
the point where we should have been a long time ago. Anyway, I've found
myself using Ubuntu 7.10 a lot more now that I have it working stably
now. I really like it. With Feisty I kept blowing it up someone when I
tried adding Beryl. When that happens Xine stops working, my virtual
desktops drop down to 1 go 4 and I was never able to get Beryl to start
automatically when I logged in.

I discovered the Gutsy was mounting my host drive as /host in the root
directory. It think its the way this new Wubi works, you can't unmount
the host drive like you can the others but for some reason it doesn't
appear in the Drive Mounter tool bar app. Anyway, I created a Launcher
for the desktop that points to the directory so I can get to my files on
that drive.
I have a SDL question. I installed Abuse which uses SDL. In Synaptic
SDL is installed but one package is and I don't get any sound in Abuse.
Do I have to install the one that includes all of the features of SDL?
