[CoLoCo] 8.10 Screen Resolution?

Did you try Xubuntu? Occasionally, that flavor of Ubuntu has a bit better
luck guessing screen resolutions on older video cards.
Also, you could try installing the proprietary nVidia driver from the
Restricted Drivers Manager.
