Ok, as of now I am running 2 desktops on Ubuntu 6.06. I have been running Ubuntu since either 4.10 or 5.04. Now I am ready to dump Microsoft off of my laptop. I have run Ubuntu on it in a VMware window. I believe the only things I will lose is my Lenovo care button, fingerprint reader and the ability to upgrade the bios since bios updates are run under windows. I will be putting on Gutsy. Is there any other gotcha's anyone knows about for this configuration. These are the specs on the laptop.
Lenovo 3000 N100 0768-2CU T2400(1.83GHz), 1024MB RAM, 100GB 5400rpm H, 15.4in 1680x1050 LCD, 128MB nVIDIA GeForce FX Go7300, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, IEEE 1394, Fingerprint reader, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro
I may put on the beta once the do the kernel freeze. The laptop is not used much. My 4 year old likes it for games and I am learning programming on it. I am ready to start on python.
