I agree.
I don't really know why we wanted to change the logo either...
but if we were/are, I was not going to let us stick with a large "green
state" imposed over the Ubuntu logo.

OK, everyone seems to be piping in on this one, so I guess I will too.
I prefer the logo we had. I thought it was a wonderful logo that
strongly reflected who we were: a big Colorado flag, with Ubuntu at the
center. The new logo looks forced to me. It does not flow the way the
old one did. It looks like the state flag, both in the rectangular and
state formed versions, is simply super-imposed over Ubuntu. This to me
breaks the flow, as well as covers a significant part of the Ubuntu
logo. I guess to me, the old one says Colorado embraces Ubuntu, the new
one says Ubuntu embraces Colorado. While both are true, as a LUG
member, I prefer to speak for myself, and let everyone know that as a
Coloradan I embrace Ubuntu.
So, if this is a vote, I vote for the original logo. I think it will
also resonate more with John Q Public here in Colorado. The state flag
is readily recognizable to anyone from this state, and the Ubuntu logo
is at our center (heart).
Just my $0.02
