It looks like they even have a .deb for Acrobat now, which is great.

Automatix also has a number of other programs that don't offer .deb
installs. A terminal install can be very intimidating to a noob. I still
don't like terminal installs, I can do them, but it seems like it takes more
work than simply double clicking a file, entering your password and watching
the magic happen. Every time I do a terminal install I think to myself 1)
what a pain in the butt 2) non-technical people will NEVER go for this.
