I remember those days in speech team. Sadly, I was a in it a wee more than a decade before you were. ;)

It is not left field. I have been observing for awhile and really wanted to introduce myself at the last meeting but I had other obligations. A certain other marketing guy here gave me the motivation, and partner in crime, I needed to pipe in.

No matter how hard I try to claim I am retired, I always find things to market. ;)

On 2/2/07, Jim Campbell <

Not to toot my own horn too much, but we did pretty well as a team, and I was a national finalist in a few events. It's been a while since I did that stuff, though. :-) (Hello, Illinois State, class of '97) :-) No matter what, I'd certainly be able to help out with organizing and hashing out the script and such.

This whole project seems to be coming from out of left field, but it does sound pretty awesome. Having the opportunity to put together a promotional feature about Ubuntu (especially with someone who has real professional experience in creating these kind of things) is really quite great. It's also great having Rich who can help with getting this item (and the producers of it) promoted once it's finished. :-)

I've seen his work and have worked with him. Not in film, but in theater. He and I and a guy in Woodstock are old theater hacks. Basically, his gig is he will get a chance to showcase some young talent and give them something to put on a resume and he'll have his production name in the credits...so free pub. He helps alot of young talent find work. He coaches for free, helps them with head shots, and will help them get auditions for commercials and stage productions. He's got a good heart.

As far as the Chicago group. Yes, you guys are the foundation and need to be featured. He usually does narrative voice overs, but I suspect he would use one or two actors as hosts or users needing to be guided in the way of Linux.
