Congratulations Matt, and welcome. I too am very new to the Ubuntu
Chicago group (not quite new to Linux, but there is always a lot more
one can learn so I still consider myself a novice). In the short time
I've been tuned into the group I've seen some exciting ideas come
across, including an upcoming meeting and some talk about a project for
new Linux user documentation (some kind of "kit" I believe wasn't
it?). Just thought I'd give a holler, I know it can be nice to have
fellow "newbies" whenever joining a new group.
BTW, Minnesota is a great state. I grew up on the MN ND border. (And
good luck to the Twins)
Thanks for the welcome, Rich. I'm now typing this message from
Ubuntu! I know, no big deal for those here, but my install attempts
failed yesterday and today I got one to work! I took a look at your
mail archives and found your page of flickr. Looks like you guys were
having fun at buffalo wild wings! We have one close to my house here,
so I think that is an excellent idea for a meeting place.
