[Ubuntu Chicago] Karmic Question

I have been running Ubuntu Karmic on my laptop and I can't figure out
why the search engines don't work.  I installed Firefox 3.5 and it
installs the Shiretoko preview browser.  I used to run 3.0 and it
worked just fine but now that option doesn't seem to help.  Does
anyone have tips? (I swear, if nixternal suggests I use
Konqueror.....)
