Hey all, Sorry if there has been lots of activity on the list. I know it can
be a bit hard sorting through the Ubuntu mailings with all the offers for
Viagra and OEM Windows Software for 97% off that has been going around
lately. This is mostly Richard's fault however :P Onto serious matters:

The team needs a new leader to be a liaison with the rest of the Ubuntu
community and Canonical. Most of the suggestions have been for myself to
share power with Jim Campbell, and to continue this trend into the near
future. However, these are the sorts of decisions and talks which should be
made in public.

This brings me to the next point. We are approaching another meeting date.
Our next meeting is projected to be in mid to late January 2007, which
should be the weekend of the 19th-20th or the 26th-27th. I have to edit the
wiki/agenda a bit, but it looks like we will discuss a new marketing plan
(via Aaron Taddei's father) and leader, along with whatever else is on the
current agenda, and it it IS a wiki, so please feel free to edit it as you
wish.

Where will this meeting be held? We have been alternating between meeting at
the Institute of Design (Chiglug) and CoDLUG (in Dupage, the suburbs). For
those who didn't make it, the last meeting was at ChiGlug 1pm to 3pm; I am
open to suggestions for meeting times and dates however. I'm suggesting the
weekend of the 19th because it is before the semester at the universities
start back up, for what it's worth.

Edited the page to reflect the decisions made at the IRC meeting about
LDAP/Samba, etc. There is still some information missing, but that should be
sorted out. We should also organize some sort of rideshare and I will put up
public transportation information in the next day or two.

One last thing. In a short number of weeks Feb. 9th, 2008 Ubuntu-Illinois is
hosting a CodeSprint in the Champaing-Urbana area. The exact agenda will be
edited heavily in the coming weeks, but I look forward to it. Please suggest
any talks/ideas if you can provide anything.

Thanks for reading through this unnecessarily long email!
