Also, something I've done in the past at events where I had little/no media (related to number 2 below): I have the live cd iso on my laptop ready to make live usb sticks for those who wanted to bring a usb along. Of course, for this to work well would entail an announcement prior to the event saying this option will be available, and it puts the onus of bringing media on the person who's getting it.
