Unless I missed it we did not hear from you again.  I'm sorry to hear
that your first experience with Ubuntu isn't perfect.  Linux does
supports more and more hardware, however it is possible you may be
doing nothing wrong and are just unlucky with your hardware.

I can't tell for sure from your question where the problem is.  With
as much detail as you can provide, what version of Ubuntu are you
using?  Where did you get the disc?  Exactly how and where does it say
"it's loaded?"  What kind of hardware are you using?  In what area do
you live?  If you live in the SF Bay Area or near to any Linux meeting
in California it is more likely you can find a volunteer to help you
