This is a very serious problem and a real shame, to tell the truth. I
consider myself quite fortunate to have received my first laptop on
December 21st in time for Christmas. And while they don't know it yet,
my godkids are going to receive another one soon as the second I managed
to finance is in the queue and waiting for new inventory.

I agree that the notifications are laughable. I received a note late
last year that I could expect the second laptop by January 15th, and
didn't receive further notice until Monday when it said more info would
be received on the 23rd. I understand the problem and accepted this
(which is easy because, of course, I did receive the first one). I feel
bad for your brother, though!

I am curious, do you have any confirmation of the database corruption
issue, or is that merely rumor at this point?
