SCaLE6X in Los Angeles is nearly upon us, and it will certainly be an
excellent opportunity for the Ubuntu California team to introduce itself
now to the Southern California community at large, make connections, and
introduce new people to Ubuntu. These appearances are a powerful way to
show others how friendly and inviting the Ubuntu community is.
We have a wiki page up to help us with planning the stuff we need to
bring and other logistics. Please check out what's still needed and see
if you can help by donating supplies for our booth.
In addition, we need volunteers to help staff the booth during the
conference on Saturday, February 9th and Sunday, February 10th. We
could also use some help breaking down the booth after the end of the
conference on the 9th.
If you will be attending SCaLE next weekend and plan to help out at the
Ubuntu booth, then you may be eligible for a free Ubuntu California name
badge! You must meet the following simple requirements:
1. You are a member of the Ubuntu California LoCo Team and are
registered as such in Launchpad.
2. You have signed the Ubuntu Code of Conduct and agree to comply with
it while you are at the booth or wearing your badge (in other words,
whenever you are representing Ubuntu).
3. You will be helping out at the Ubuntu booth for at least three hours
4. Last but not least, you reply to this email and let me know you'll
be helping out and want a badge! :D
So if you can make it to SCaLE6X and are willing to donate a couple
hours of your time, please let me know so I will have a badge for you
when you join us. All I need is your first and last name along with
your Launchpad account name. You'll be able to pick it up at the Ubuntu
booth (we're booth #31!).
Everything you need to create and print your own badges is also
available in a Bazaar repository. You can grab it directly from my
website or through Launchpad. The font is Mallige which is available in
the Ubuntu repositories.
Please let us know ahead of time if you can make it so we know what to
