Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

We can sync the package as debian have fixed FTBFS with gcc 4.4

Changelog since current lucid version 2.9-1ubuntu1:

fakechroot (2.9-1.1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Put files in lib32 directories directly (Closes: #533002).
  * Fix conflicting types for 'scandir' (Closes: #552891).
