This bug was fixed in the package sivp - 0.5.0-1ubuntu2

  * debian/rules:
    DEB_CONFIGURE_SCRIPT_ENV=SCI_DISABLE_TK=1 SCI_JAVA_ENABLE_HEADLESS=1
    Should prevent scilab trying to load the GUI in configure.
    (Closes LP: #343155)
  * debian/patches/javaHeadless.diff: Disable GUI when calling scilab.
